It is a Winter Wonderland outside! And you know what that means. It’s the perfect time of year to get outside and have fun in the snow with your dog! Most dogs absolutely love the snow and what better way to offset those holiday parties and dinners than with a nice long winter walk, hike or run with your favorite furry family member!
Adventuring in a winter wonderland is fun for both of you. There are a few things to keep in mind when taking your dog on a winter adventure. Make sure they stay warm with a coat if they do not have adequate fur. Stay safe around snow melt salts as they can burn a dog’s pads. If you live in or plan on walking in an area where there are a lot of salts used, keep them safe with booties. Watch for temperature drops and keep an eye on the clouds if you plan on being out for a long time to make sure you don’t get stuck in a blizzard. Make sure your pet is physically healthy enough to go on the adventures you have planned and keep a watchful eye for ice so no one slips!
